| The hiring has been carried out through the program for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment, with a subsidy from the State Public Employment Service of more than 73,000 euros | The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras; María Ángeles Túnez, and the Councilor for Education; José Manuel Sánchez, this morning welcomed 16 long-term unemployed from the municipality, registered as job seekers, and that from today and for 3 months will carry out various actions to clean public spaces such as streets, roads, accesses or the surroundings of the Castillo de Nogalte, among others.
The selection and hiring of workers has been carried out by the Regional Employment and Training Service following the legally established procedure. The hiring has been carried out through the program for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment, with a grant from the State Public Employment Service to the Puerto Lumbreras City Council of € 73,309.44, channeled through the County Employment Councils and destined to finance the total salary cost derived from this action. The Councilor for Employment, José Manuel Sánchez, explained that "the purpose of this program is to create employment, promote labor insertion in the municipality and hire long-term unemployed for works of social and general interest." To participate in this initiative, workers must be registered in said municipalities and have contributed a minimum of 540 days in the special agrarian regime or in the special system for agricultural employed workers of Social Security.
In addition, applicants with family responsibilities are taken into account and members of groups with special difficulties in accessing employment are given priority, such as women victims of gender violence, people with disabilities, those over 45, the long-term unemployed and people who have not been hired in last year's call.
