The asphalting of streets throughout the municipality, placement of lights, improvement of the rainwater collector and execution of funeral pavilions, among other projects, will be carried out. The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras; María Ángeles Túnez, and the Director General of Local Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia; Francisco Abril, have presented this morning the new Municipal Works and Services Plan 2020-2021.
A plan for which the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has awarded a subsidy of 281,175 euros to the municipal council, of which it contributes 14,059 euros, and which will be implemented thanks to the joint work of both administrations. This project includes the paving of almost 28,000 square meters in all districts, neighborhoods and areas of the town, always responding to the requests of citizens, the placement of 53 lights on public roads, as well as the improvement of the collector of rainwater located on Vicente Ruiz Llamas street, to avoid complications in the face of heavy rains, and take advantage of this water to irrigate the fields of the municipality. The execution of 108 funeral pavilions in the municipal cemetery is also contemplated, "among other improvements that attend to the needs and demands of our neighbors," the mayor said; María Ángeles Tunisia.
"This plan, the mayor explained, includes essential improvements for our town and with which we are going to respond to the real needs of all Lumbrerenses, starting works of adaptation and remodeling to improve the state of our streets, roads, infrastructures and other public spaces ". Francisco Abril, for his part, stated that "these are actions that have a clear objective: to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Puerto Lumbreras and the provision of essential services that they use in their day-to-day lives."
