| Around 150 athletes will participate in this highly prestigious event within Spanish sport, and which will have all the security measures | The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Puerto Lumbreras City Council; Juan Rubén Burrueco, has held a coordination meeting with the president of the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia; Sergio Martínez, the coordinator of the Adapted Cycling Commission of this Federation; Joaquín López, as well as with the commands of the Local Police and the Emergency Service-Civil Protection of Puerto Lumbreras.
A meeting with the aim of discussing the different issues that affect the organization of the Adapted Cycling Spanish Championship, which will be held in Puerto Lumbreras on November 6, 7 and 8, with all the security measures adapted to the current health situation. It will be the second time that the Lumbrerense municipality hosts a highly prestigious event within Spanish sport, in which around 150 athletes from all over the country will take part.
"Our municipality turns once again to adapted cycling.
We have been hosting different national events in this sport for more than 10 years since in 2009 we hosted the first Spanish championship integrated into the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation.
Sport is the perfect combination of effort, equal opportunities and improvement, values ??that we promote, for which we bet and strongly support from the Puerto Lumbreras City Council, and the organization of this event is proof of this.
Furthermore, sport is constitutes as a great dynamizer of the economy of the municipality,and both our bars and restaurants, our hotels and our businesses benefit from it ", says the Councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco. The Championship, organized by the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation and the Murcia Region Cycling Federation, with the collaboration of the Ginés García Cycling Club and the Puerto Lumbreras City Council, will begin on Friday, November 6 with the accreditation, collection of numbers and functional classifications.
A closed area will be enabled exclusively for accredited cyclists in the Augusto Vels municipal park, and all the protocols and measures indicated by the health authorities in the face of COVID-19 will be followed. On Saturday 7, the tests will begin with the individual time trial of the different modalities of adapted cycling participants: handbike, tricycles, adapted bicycles and tandem.
In the afternoon the 'team relay' test will take place, while on Sunday morning the Spanish Road Championship will be held.
In the coming weeks, schedules, circuit and more details about this test will be revealed, and the official presentation of it will take place.
