| The number of registered unemployed last month in the municipality is 802, and the local unemployment rate stands at 7.46%, more than 8 points below the regional and national | Thursday, November 5, 2019.- The volume of unemployed in Puerto Lumbreras was reduced by 4.07 percent last October, in contrast to the increase in the unemployment figure in Spain.

With this, the unemployment rate in the municipality stands at 7.46%, more than 8 points below the regional and national figure according to the latest available data.

The number of unemployed people in the town is currently 802; 34 less than in the month of September, and unemployment has dropped by 277 people in the last seven years in the town, representing a decrease of more than 25 percent.

After a few negative months as a result of the State of Alarm decreed in March by the health crisis of COVID-19, the curve has been reversed and Puerto Lumbreras has generated employment in 3 of the last 4 months. Last October there were 113 new hires compared to the previous month, with the number of Social Security affiliations being 4,735, with an interannual increase of 3.5 points compared to the same period in 2019.
