| The regional government mobilizes 37 million euros in the rescue plan for the sector, including non-refundable subsidies of 100% to offset expenses during the closure by regional decree | The Lumbrerense council will allocate 90,000 euros in direct aid, in addition to the exemption of the public road occupancy rate during the first semester of 2021 The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras; María Ángeles Túnez, and the councilor for Local Development and Economic Dynamization; Rocío Martínez, together with the general director of the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia (ITREM); Juan Francisco Martínez, have held a meeting with the hoteliers of the municipality to analyze the situation before the closure of establishments decreed by the regional government to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, reaffirm once again the commitment of the regional and local administrations with the sector and inform them about all the aid available to cope with the effects of this crisis.
"The health situation we have is serious, it is the epidemiologists who indicate that drastic measures must be taken, but we are not going to abandon the hoteliers.We are going to launch the largest rescue plan in all of Spain, with an investment of almost 37 million euros, "said Juan Francisco Martínez. Around 40 hospitality companies in Puerto Lumbreras have already applied for aid from the regional government's "Reactiva Hostelería" line, with non-refundable grants of up to 4,000 euros.
These companies will automatically receive aid from the new "Hibernation Hospitality" line, which will cover expenses during the days they are closed by regional decree, with amounts of between 3,000 and 10,000 euros depending on the number of workers in the establishment.
The plan of the Autonomous Community also includes, among other measures, the moratorium on loans with financial institutions, a new line of loans at zero interest, aid to face the payment of self-employed fees, or the exemption of regional taxes and fees , among other measures. For its part, the Puerto Lumbreras City Council "is going to make a significant economic effort allocating 90,000 euros in direct aid to the hoteliers of the municipality, in addition to extending the exemption from paying the public road occupancy rate during the first semester of 2021 to support a fundamental sector in the local economy, "said councilor Rocío Martínez.
Other actions that the Lumbrerense council is going to implement are the expansion of terraces and enclosures, the ICIO bonus of 75 percent for the conditioning of premises in the face of COVID-19, and the freezing for one more year of the public price for water consumption, among other.
"As soon as the premises can be opened, which will be based on the health evolution,We will continue to carry out campaigns to promote consumption in our bars and restaurants, and new initiatives for Christmas.
