| Puerto Lumbreras will benefit from a project financed by the Association for Rural Development CAMPODER, for an amount greater than 18,000 euros | The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has awarded the contract for the improvement of supports and signaling elements in more than 70 roads in rural districts of the municipality, and the works will begin in the coming weeks.In La Estación-Esparragal mainly, in addition to other districts, the information and signaling elements on rural roads will be improved with this action thanks to a project in charge of the Association for Rural Development 'Campoder', within the Rural Development Program of the Region of Murcia 2014-2020, through the granting of LEADER grants.

Some works with an amount of 18,120 euros, and that will remedy the deficit in terms of signage, which will facilitate the work of orientation for any citizen and essential services such as postal mail, in addition to placing the districts of Puerto Lumbreras as a destination emerging tourist."Signage is a necessary instrument for user reception, education, identification, information on existing tourist resources, spatial distribution, orientation, management and regulation of visits to the municipality, the district and even connection with other road networks of neighboring municipalities such as Lorca ", says the councilor for Rural Development and Pedanías; Francisco Gázquez.This project includes 15 wooden signs, 76 wooden posts with two directional arrows, and an environmental awareness poster, which will have a description and location of the protected natural spaces in the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, advice on conservation of nature and the fight against climate change.

Also, this action will improve the facilities, equipment and existing signage services, and they will be provided with easy-to-read texts, in order to overcome cognitive barriers and with sensory aids.

Likewise, the project incorporates investments for the production of renewable energy in signage, for energy savings and efficiency, and aid for the sensory disabled."The supports, made with sustainable materials and respectful with the environment, will contain data such as the name of the rural road, with the location of GPS coordinates, care about the environment, nearby tourist attractions and the existence of heritage elements of historical value, Among others, in this way, we continue to bet on improving services in our districts, putting them in value and reaffirming our commitment to them ", said Gázquez.
