| The action has an investment of close to 50,000 euros | The water collected will be used to irrigate the fields of the municipality The General Water Directorate of the Regional Government's Department of Water, Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment is going to allocate almost 50,000 euros to reform the sanitation section of Francisco Salzillo Street.
The works, which have been underway since last week, will minimize the overflows in the event of episodes of intense rain that occur right at the point of the roundabout where the sculpture in homage to the independence of the municipality is located, on Avenida Juan Carlos I.
"Thanks to these works, it is possible to balance the sanitation network to absorb more water, achieving greater evacuation.
In addition, these works will allow to collect and use that water for the irrigation of the fields of Puerto Lumbreras, through the treatment plants", has pointed out César Gázquez; Councilor for Municipal Works and Services. This action joins the special cleaning operation that the City Council has carried out to prevent obstructions and possible risks from heavy rains.
"We undertook the cleaning of the urban section of the Rambla de Nogalte riverbed, and we cleaned and conditioned the sewer scuppers and gratings, in addition to carrying out actions demanded by the neighbors to prevent the entry of water into the homes.
On the other hand, the Management General of Roads of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructures has carried out the clearing and cleaning, and the RM D-26 ", explained Gázquez.
