The initiative is part of the activities included in the agenda of the Environment Month, and allows citizens to visit the new public facilities with local guides.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Environment has organized an Open Day at the new Centre for Nature Interpretation.
The initiative, which is included in the program of activities for the Environment Month, includes guided tours of the new equipment that is located in the Youth Hostel Cabezo la Jara.
More than a hundred people participated in the activity which has visited the permanent exhibition area of the Center for the Interpretation of Nature that incorporates five themes: flora, fauna, landscapes, human and natural environment.
Among the educational concepts of the visit, highlights a sample of fossils and minerals from the area, the generic aspects of the landscape, and a sample of aromas that can interpret the flora.
In addition, during the tour have described the first settlements, livestock, industry and water use in the natural environment of the municipality.
