The town of Puerto Lumbreras host a Civil Flag Jura next 4th of July for institutional events organized to celebrate the town the 52nd anniversary of municipal independence.
The Mayor of the town, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and Colonel General Director of the Air Academy San Javier, Juan Antonio Ortega Vázquez, presented this morning the acts take place in the municipality.
"It's the first time that Puerto Lumbreras hosts a Civil Flag Jura to citizens, so that from the session we hope to become a rally on the participation of as many people as possible to celebrate Independence Day the municipality, "said the Mayor of the town, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The event, organized between the city of Puerto Lumbreras and General Air Academy San Javier, will swear allegiance to the flag of Spain to all men and women who once could not serve in the military and those who did they did and want to endorse their commitment to the Spanish flag.
The event, which will run from 10:00 am on Avenida Murcia Region, is included among the events planned in the town on the occasion of the Independence of Puerto Lumbreras.
In addition to this act, which is expected to be involved over 300 citizens, will develop a parade ground and one air will complete the journey.
On the other hand, the General Air Academy San Javier will be present in the Institutional Act of 7 July which marks the 52nd anniversary of independence as a municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
This day the session will give awards to institutions and citizens to recognize their work and commitment to the town, being the General Air Academy San Javier one of the institutions that will receive the Medal of Merit by the City.
According to Sanchez, "With this award we recognize his work, his ongoing collaboration with the municipality and the deployment of technical and human resources to perform in Puerto Lumbreras in such moving events as the upcoming 4th of July or the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of the municipality in 2008. "
Citizens interested in oath or promise to the Spanish flag should collect and complete registration in the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras before 30 June.
Open to all those men and women over 18 years of Spanish nationality who have not been incapacitated by a court ruling.
Two centuries of history
The Spanish flag dates from 1785, when King Carlos III, after the change of Austria to the Bourbon dynasty, choose as a new sign rojigualda flag Spanish national identity to distinguish it from other nations that were related to the realms of Peninsula.
In total, 224 years, except eight, between 1931 and 1939 in which the Second Republic replaced the lower red stripe for a dwelling.
Since then, the only changes were the shield suffered in 1945, 1977 and 1981.
