The town of Puerto Lumbreras last night welcomed the eleventh edition of the Flamenco Festival attended by over 1,500 people.
In the 2010 edition, the Festival featured a special performance by the singer Curro Piñana Cartagena who played numerous issues accompanied by flamenco guitar of Carlos Piñana and Marcos Romera.
At 22.30 began the festival with performances by Piñana, Cartagena singer who has won several awards in the world of flamenco as the first prize and Gold Cantaloupe Festival in the XII National Lo Ferro, the First Prize in the XXXVI Miners Fandangos Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, or the National Award 'Flamenco Active-Ciudad de Úbeda "
After he began the poetic interpretation of the play "Blood Wedding 'by Federico García Lorca danced for more than 50 members of the Association of Flamenco Dance Ria Pita.
The play, adapted by poet lumbrerense Carmen Martínez, and recited by local artist Mark Salvador Romero, included a total of 13 dances flamenco among which were the traditional bulerías, bolts, or happiness, among others.
Thus, the members of the Ballet Flamenco Ria Pita with local performers represented Bodas de Sangre, a verse tragedy of 1931 the writer Federico García Lorca.
Poetic production focuses on the theme of the tragic sense of life and death.
In conclusion, the Councillor for Culture and Celebrations, Isabel Garcia, noted that "the Festival Flamenco de Puerto Lumbreras is gaining importance every year and has become a key event for all lovers of dance and flamenco. Proof of this is that year on year increase in number of people that came to our town. "
