More than 40 children, mostly Roma, have participated in the project that aims to enhance the skills and social behaviors.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, has launched an ongoing throughout the project socio-educational intervention for children who need more educational support.
The initiative, part of the Municipal Program for the Prevention and Monitoring Socio-Education, has strengthened the skills and social behaviors in more than 40 children in the municipality.
According to the Councillor for Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, "with this project, the municipality lumbrerense promotes educational sessions in which they reinforce the behaviors and social skills of children. In addition, meetings have incorporated various materials that have served as academic support for children who need it. "
The pioneering initiative in the town of Puerto Lumbreras, has served more than 40 children aged between seven and twelve years, mostly Roma. The children were gone two days a week educational support workshops where have conducted a program of theoretical and practical exercises on the basic school subjects, and have also made a number of recreational activities to promote social relationships.
To develop the educational project, sessions have been organized throughout the course run by various professionals as a socio-cultural mediator, two social workers, a social integrator, and a family educator.
All of them have set up programs tailored to the needs of each child.
