The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Youth and Sports has launched a program of activities for summer 2010 to coincide with the opening of swimming pools.
Specifically, activities include swimming lessons for all ages, as well as water aerobics program for the elderly, pregnant and therapeutic swimming.
"This year we have made available to the lumbrerenses many activities with an extended schedule that target the general public.
Through this program, citizens can enjoy courses and water activities during the months of July and August in Puerto Lumbreras, without having to go to other coastal towns' stresses the councilman of Youth and Sports, Mariano Carrasco.
Swimming courses, whose inscriptions are open in the Youth Space in Puerto Lumbreras, are divided by age, for children 0 to 3 years, 3 to 6 years and 6 to 14 years.

Improving facilities
