The rider Fabian Molina and triathlete Mabel Gallardo will be honored as best athletes in men's and women respectively.
The Councillor for Sports, Juan Francisco Carrillo, explained that "the goal of this event is to recognize and reward the work and effort made by our local athletes in different disciplines."

Puerto Lumbreras host next Saturday, March 5 the first edition of the Sports Awards, where local athletes for lifetime achievement will be recognized over the last year.
Specifically, among the winners is the rider Fabian Molina as absolute best male athlete;
Mabel Gallardo, absolute award for best female athlete;
Mario Carrasco, best male athlete and Maica Cuenca Under 18 award for best female athlete sub18.
In addition, it will reward Clinic Puerto Lumbreras-Mobel Sport-Club Athletics Nogalte as sports club and the youngest team as the best team CD Lumbreras.
Similarly, it will be awarded Marcos García Navarro for his work in support of voluntary sport for 20 years, and will also receive a special mention Francisco Sosa, for his collaboration with the world of sports and especially basketball.

In this sense, the winning athletes were chosen by a jury appointed for this purpose, composed of representatives of all sports associations in the municipality, the organizers and the Department of Sports.
Thus, the event takes place on Saturday 5 March at 21.30 at the Hotel Riscal Puerto Lumbreras.

Note that this first edition of the Sports Awards is organized by the Club Basketball Lumbreras and the city of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Sports.
Fabian Molina
This young athlete belongs to Primaflor-Orbea Racing Team mountain bike.
He has won fourth place in elite category at the Open de Spain Marathon and second in the last race of the Open of Spain Ultramarathon.
Mabel Gallardo
The lumbrerense triathlete has achieved bronze medal in the Championship of Spain Middle Distance and has twice participated in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.
It has also been repeatedly champion of Copa del Rey with his team Daemons Rivas Triathlon Club and has obtained the title of Triathlete of the Year, awarded by the Triathlon Federation of Murcia.
Mario Carrasco
It is a junior team rider Valverde Team and has a great future, highlighting in its category.
It has achieved great victories in the 2015 season as the Trofeo Antonio Salvador Sanchis (Genoese) or Trophy Antonio Miguel Diaz (Alhendín).
He also won the first stage "Return to the Talavera" in junior class and went on to earn the Regional Cycling Championship in cadet category.
Maica Cuenca
This young athlete has bronze medal in high jump at the Children Spain Championship held in Valladolid.
It also has regional child record 220 meter hurdles and 220 children regional meters hurdles champion in the high jump and triple jump.
Finally, Maica Cuenca's regional runner child pentathlon championship and third in child tretatlón.
With his school he won the regional championship of cross school teams.
Athletics Club Nogalte
Clinical Puerto Lumbreras-Mobel Sport-Club Athletics Nogalte has more than 90 children in the School Athletics and nearly 40 adults.
He stressed Federated tests with 1,500 performances, being the 4th best club in the region in number of performances.
In their ranks, the CA Nogalte got a total of three regional championships, 3 regional runners-up and third place in the regional championship.
In addition, last year, five teams qualified for the Championship of Spain of Cross clubs in Caceres.
Individually, athletes Clinic Puerto Lumbreras-Mobel Sport-CANogalte have garnered a total of 58 medals (19 gold, 22 silver and 17 bronze) regionally, nationally highlighting bronze in child Maica Cuenca and Carlos David Fernandez veteran.
Note that this club was awarded last year for "Best Promotional club" of the 2014/15 season by the Athletics Federation of Murcia.
In addition, 2015 has organized various sporting events like the Half Marathon, the climb to the Sima of the Cabezo de la Jara, the Nogalte Xtreme Trail, San Silvestre, days of "Athletics in the street", among others.
CD Lumbreras youngest team
The youngest team CD Lumbreras has been honored for his promotion to First Class Benjamin of the Region of Murcia.
The team, coached by Juan Francisco Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez, has a labor force to Javier García, Francisco de Asis Perez, Juan Marin, Hathma Kessou, Juan Garcia, Jose Antonio Ruiz, Juan Diego Gázquez, Antonio Lopez, Fernando Mellado, Adrian Lopez, Javier Pallares, Sergio Pérez, Antonio Garcia, Mario Pallares, David Sanchez and Eduardo Lopez.
