The objective pursued with the launch of the toy library is to support the Roma students in the tasks of school support and strengthen the knowledge acquired in their schools.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has launched a free service for children and youth recreation center for the Roma community in public nursery Buenaventura Romera.
In total, more than thirty children participate every Tuesday and Thursday this activity, designed exclusively for Roma children, with whom conducting recreational activities as a tool for social integration and communication is encouraged.
Thus, the objective pursued with the launch of this new service is to support the Roma students in the tasks of school support and strengthen the knowledge acquired in their schools.
In addition, recreational activities that promote personal relationships and contribute to the motivation and involvement of the child with daily attendance, thus avoiding truancy are also developed.
In this regard it is noteworthy that the toy library is a framed within the Project of Integral Attention to the Roma community, developed by the City of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Autonomous Community activity through Murciano Institute of Social Action.
