The Ministry of Education launched this educational program that brings science to students through humor and monologues.
The Ministry of Education and Universities held today at the Instituto Miguel de Cervantes de Murcia's regional finals of 'Wicked Science' educational program, developed jointly with Fundación Telefónica and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) in which involved 2,750 students from 42 schools in the region of Murcia.
The regional winner, Maria Diaz Martinez, is a student of fourth year of Secondary Education Rambla Nogalte Institute of Puerto Lumbreras.
Maria Diaz will participate in the national phase to be held in Madrid, and won a trip to visit the particle accelerator at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva (Switzerland), to expand their scientific knowledge and visit with your parent and teacher site where professionals will explain what work is carried out there and all the features of CERN.
The main objectives of this program are to awaken in students the interest in science, encourage scientific vocations, providing the faculty resources to facilitate the presentation of science to their students and encourage skills in linguistic communication, mainly oral expression students of third and fourth year of secondary education.
The six finalists students who participated in today's event belong to the Institutes of Fleet, Floridablanca and José Planes, Murcia, the Institute Los Molinos de Cartagena, the Rambla Nogalte Institute of Puerto Lumbreras and Alquipir of Cehegin.
The program has its origin in the Challenge Education project that Telefonica Foundation identified global initiatives that had proved more effective in promoting the scientific and technological vocations among students.
