Tourists are traveling to Puerto Lumbreras on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays since last April 8 to May 10 next day.
More than 6,000 Austrian tourists visit Puerto Lumbreras through the holiday program Austrian travel club 'Senioren Reisen' along with the tour operator and receptive Spanish 'Iris Tour Vacances'.
Eight to ten planes land every week in the San Javier airport transporting these travelers will visit different municipalities in the region, including Puerto Lumbreras is.
In particular, tourists are traveling to Puerto Lumbreras on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays since last April 8 to May 10 next day.
During his visit to the municipality, the Austrians made a stop for lunch at the Hotel Riscal Puerto Lumbreras and later visit the stud Peña de Bejar, one of the most recognized internationally in horse breeding Purebred Spanish, which has with prizes and medals at the most prestigious fairs in the sector.
Thus, the tourists know the typical cuisine of the area as well as the stud Peña Bejar, through a guided tour that also includes a Flemish horse show.
