The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras today has joined the commemoration of the International Day of Noise Awareness, saving 60 seconds of silence in all municipal offices and schools in the town.
It should be noted that the City of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Municipal Council passed a motion in which the celebration of this day remembered with a minute of silence in order to contribute to improving the acoustic environment and raising awareness of the discomfort and the damage it causes.
In this sense, the Councillor for Sustainable Development, Angela Morillas, said that "we can not forget that noise is also a social problem that can cause health problems. Therefore, the participation of all citizens is needed to help in the fight against noise pollution and achieve a better quality of life. "
For over 15 years, the last Wednesday of April the International Day of Noise Awareness is held with the purpose of promoting the care of the acoustic environment and conservation of hearing.
