The municipality joins the commemoration of Europe Day
The Community will promote regional policies' Open Government 'in Puerto Lumbreras thanks to an agreement signed today between the Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagán, and the mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, which the municipality adheres to the' regional network of municipalities for citizen participation '.
Maria Dolores Pagán stressed that the involvement of citizens in decision-making "generates policies of higher quality and, therefore, advice and training is provided to municipalities from the Ministry of Presidency to promote the involvement of society in the management public ".
The Ministry has promoted this network to strengthen cooperation in this field between the regional and municipal administrations.
This is to encourage citizen participation in public life and implement complementary actions on transparency.
"Adherence to this network means that Puerto Lumbreras is committed to approve a municipal regulation of participation and promote participatory processes for the development of measures affecting the neighbors," said the minister.
For its part, the Community provides guidance for the development of such municipal regulations and for the implementation of the mechanisms requiring the exercise of the right of access to public information that is in the national and regional legislation on transparency.
