The Director General of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Carmen Teodora Morales, participated this morning at the opening of Equine Cattle Fair of Puerto Lumbreras by the mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia.
The fair will be held today and tomorrow at the fairgrounds Regional Livestock Market, from 8:00 to 20:00.
This fair is one of the oldest games in Spain and in about 400 animals are exposed in a facility of 20,000 square meters.
It is a fair with more than 80 years of tradition in which participating farmers in different parts of the Region and other regions.
Teodora Carmen Morales said that "such fairs highlights the importance of the equine industry in the region, where there are 2,596 registered farms and 11,567 horses equine census".
Besides buying and selling livestock at the fair exhibition and sale of livestock equipment, such as saddles, work esparto and other related tools horse world is made.
The Director General encouraged citizens to visit this fair, because "it is a good opportunity for entire families to see first hand the horse world."
