The Mayor and President of the group have signed a collaboration agreement for the management of the new Astronomical Observatory "Cabezo de la Jara".
Through this agreement, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras provides a subsidy of 7,500 euros to the group.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the president of the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia, Sebastian Escudero, this morning signed a collaboration agreement for the management of the new Astronomical Observatory "Cabezo de la Jara" with the aim to launch advocacy and outreach in astronomy.
Specifically, through this agreement, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras provides a subsidy of 7,500 euros to the group to meet the costs of carrying out the planned activities.
In this sense, the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia is committed to take guided tours every Wednesday and Saturday from 15 June to 15 September, and the last Saturday of each month throughout the year.
Similarly, members of the group show Observatory facilities and conduct observations with students of schools and associations when they so request.
In addition, the group will be responsible for promoting the Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara in meetings, seminars and conferences.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, stressed that "we signed a collaboration agreement with the Astronomical Association to make the most of these facilities have recently released".
Tunisia added that "we want to offer the possibility that anyone who wants to visit the Centre to do so and also accompanied by a group of experts."
