The lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer VILLAGE, in collaboration with the City, is developing a project alzheimer awareness from childhood, funded by Obra Social La Caixa.
The project has started today with the students of CEIP Immaculate Conception, who have moved to the village association to share a day with people affected by Alzheimer's disease.
The Lumbrerensene Association of Alzheimer VILLAGE, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, has launched a project funded by Obra Social La Caixa, which aims to sensitize children about the disease
Specifically, the program is aimed at students of 5th course of Primary schools in the municipality with the aim of raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease since childhood.
In this way, the project has started today with the students of CEIP Immaculate Conception, who have moved to the center of the Village Association to share a day with people affected by Alzheimer's disease.
In this sense, children have met users of the center, and the operation of the association.
Notably, throughout this week, other schools will continue to participate in this project.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, who also attended the conference, explained that "we want to bring the reality of people with alzheimer children of the municipality so they can better understand this disease."
In addition, Tunisia added that "while learning and having fun, school children develop the ability to reflect on the importance of caring for people with Alzheimer's disease."
Thus, after learning the operation of the center, students have received a healthy breakfast and have participated in various workshops with users and psychologist of the association.
At the end of the day, it has commissioned children an essay on what they have learned and feelings that they have.
Thus, students of 5th year of Primary of all schools participate in this contest.
The winners, who will be elected by members of the board of the lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer ALDEA, will be presented with a tablet.
Finally, note that, the project will also be funded by Obra Social La Caixa, it has the support of employees volunteer social work.
