About 1000 people attended the event that took place in the courtyard of the Cultural Center of the municipality.
The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has hosted the First International Festival of Folklore "Between cultures", with the participation of five dance groups from four different countries.
In this first edition, the festival was attended by folk groups China, Russia, Puerto Rico and Spain (Puerto Lumbreras and Toledo).
Specifically, about one thousand people attended the event that took place in the courtyard of the Cultural Center of the municipality.
In addition, before starting the action, about 20.30 hours, all dance groups held a parade from the square of the Constitution to the square of the Church where the exchange of gifts took place.
Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maria Victoria Jerez, stressed that "our town has become a meeting point of different cultures thanks to the magnificent performances full of light and color by groups of national and international folklore".
Note that the Folklore Festival is organized by the Chorus and Dance Group Virgen del Rosario, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
This activity is part of the summer program 'Nogalte Cultural', which offers leisure activities, culture, tourism and sports during the months of July and August.
PUERTO LUMBRERAS: CHOIRS AND DANCES VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO
The group of Songs and Dances Virgen del Rosario was established in 1980, and currently make up more than 40 people, including members of the Rondalla and dancers.
His work focuses on conservation, rescue and dissemination of music, dance and traditional costumes of the town.
The group has participated in lumbrerense National, and International Festivals, bringing the Folklore to other countries like Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Romania and France.
TOLEDO: Songs and Dances of CONSUEGRA
The origins of the Association of Songs and Dances of Consuegra, dating back to 1953, when the initial group emerges within the Women's Section of Consuegra.
This first group will change its course following the conclusion of the first Feast of the Rose of Saffron, which takes the current name and which will be linked very closely to this day.
For more than 60 years, the "Rose of Saffron" group has been ambassador of his country wherever he has gone, participating in festivals and throughout all regional and national geography, having also visited the Canary and Balearic Islands .
Likewise, it has crossed borders, participating in international festivals in Andorra, Portugal, Poland, Hungary or Azores Islands, among others.
CHINA: "MEI HAI" ART GROUP NORTH SHAANXI
Mei Hai, Art Group North Shaanxi was created by Mr. Li Xiaoping in 2005. This group has a wide repertoire of more than 150 pieces between songs, plays, traditional dances and folk music marked a wealth where each has its own style reflecting the cultural heritage, customs and traditions of the people of the country.
RUSSIA: "IRANDEK" FOLK DANCE GROUP
Irandek folk dance group, was created in 1971 in Bashkiria State University.
Since its inception, the group has grown significantly, achieving that, throughout its history, more than three thousand dancers have managed to become part of it.
In its early gained popularity being recognized as one of the best folk groups of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Gíbaro is a Folkloric Company Puerto Rico born 42 years ago in order to preserve, promote, disseminate, represent the culture, customs and Puerto Rican folklore through music and dance.
Throughout its 42 years of existence, the company has participated in more than 30 International Festivals of Folklore achieving to spread its roots and folklore to more than 40 countries on five continents, reaping numerous successes and awards in his country and abroad its borders.
