The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has strengthened the service to women victims of domestic violence with the extension of hours Specialized Care Point Victims of Domestic Violence in Puerto Lumbreras (PAE).

This action has been launched thanks to a grant awarded by the Department of Family and Equal Opportunities for the provision of services and programs to care for women victims of gender violence.

Specifically, from now on the point of Specialized Care for Victims of Domestic Violence in Puerto Lumbreras you provide service 15 hours per week with a psychologist specialized in the area.

Thus, the purpose of the grant awarded by the Autonomous Community is to assist women victims of domestic violence under the action protocols and coordination of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, as well as offering individual treatment and group for battered women receiving counseling and necessary to integrate into society and overcome the consequences of abuse care.

The mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, explained that "we have improved the service to women victims of gender violence with the extension of hours Specialized Care Point in five hours each week."
