Puerto Lumbreras City Council joins the campaign "Vidriosueño, fighting for a dream", to be held in the city from 3 to 25 October.
Thus, the mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, Councillor for Public Services, Eliseo Sanchez, the Councillor for Sustainable Development, Angela Morillas, and a representative of ECOVIDRIO, Manuel Sala, presented this morning the campaign.
Through this Initiative 4 glass containers will be installed in the most central places of the municipality and Ecovidrio will donate one euro for every kilo of glass containers citizens deposited in these containers, which will be destined to the decoration of the new children's ward Virgen de la Arrixaca.
From 3 to October 10 containers will be at the fairgrounds noon and the Fairground Night.
From 10 to 25 October will remain around schools in the municipality.
Citizens can collaborate to put their glass in these containers.
On Friday October 7 afternoon of 17 to 20h, and Saturday, 8 and Sunday 9 December at 18h, in the igloos will ecoinformadores to discuss the campaign and concienciarán about recycling glass.
In these same days you will be available solidarity bracelet at these points.
The mayor of the town explained that "we have joined this solidarity campaign coinciding with the celebration of our festivities so that the amount of recycled glass is greater, taking advantage of more consumption and more influx of people in these holidays."
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras is collaborating with the campaign # VidrioSueño "Fighting for a dream" Ecovidrio, to assist in the project AFACMUR and decorate the children's ward of the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia.
In addition, the initiative will seek support in the online environment through the hashtag # vidriosueño and the sale of solidarity bracelet.
"Struggling for a Dream" is a project born from the need to acclimate the hospital environment, which still is more important in Pediatrics.
Taking advantage of the creation of the new building for the Children's Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, they saw the need to deepen those aspects that the child and adolescent miss during their disease process.
Finally, the mayor of the town has encouraged all lumbrerenses to collaborate in this campaign and stressed that "a simple gesture like recycling glass can make many people happy."
Data recycled glass in Puerto Lumbreras
This campaign will also serve to keep raising kilograms of glass packaging waste deposited in containers of Puerto Lumbreras.
According to the latest data available, local citizens recycled a total of 225,440 kilograms of packaging glass, which means that each neighbor recycled an average of 15.9 kilograms of this material.
Regarding the rate of containerization, Puerto Lumbreras, stands with an average of 165 people per container, and at present a total of 89 igloos for waste glass containers installed in the town.
