A total of 34 establishments have started operations in Puerto Lumbreras in 2016 compared to the 19 business licenses granted in 2015.

In this sense, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has reduced by 25% the Real Estate Tax (IBI) of a rustic and urban nature, which directly benefits the merchants.
Thus, an entrepreneur with a commercial low of 110 square meters pays 70 euros less than IBI in 2016 with respect to the previous year.
On the other hand, an entrepreneur with an industrial plot of 1,000 square meters this year has saved 200 euros on his IBI receipt.
Similarly, the owner of a farm or livestock of 1,000 square meters saves 75 euros in the Real Property Tax in 2016.
Also, the City of Puerto Lumbreras has also put in place other mechanisms that facilitate the installation of new businesses in the locality.
Such is the case of the Municipal Ordinance that simplifies the administrative procedures for the creation of new companies exempt from environmental qualification in Puerto Lumbreras.
This Ordinance aims at simplifying licensing procedures for activities exempted from environmental qualification, as well as simplifying and clarifying matters related to changes in ownership of activity licenses.
The council has said "it is fundamental to support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs, since they are really the great generators of employment."
To conclude, Ángela Morillas has concluded that "Puerto Lumbreras continues to lower its unemployment rate by one month, which is already at 8.72%.
