The aim of this course is to help improve the quality of life of children under 5 years of age so that they can survive in countries such as Ethiopia or Niger.
More than 250 students from the Purísima Concepción public school in the village of La Estación-Esparragal have participated in the 13th edition of the "Kilometers of Solidarity" race organized by Save the Children.
The aim of this course is to help improve the quality of life of children under 5 years of age so that they can survive in countries such as Ethiopia, Niger or Burkina Faso.
The dynamics of the race has had the involvement of the students, since they have been the ones in charge of looking for sponsors among their relatives and friends, explaining to them the destiny of the funds that have collected.
The students have entered in their broker's card the euros that each sponsor donates per kilometer traveled.
At the end of the race, each rider has received a diploma of appreciation and will collect the money from his sponsors showing his card with the miles traveled.
Subsequently, each participant will deliver the proceeds to the teacher and the center will send Save the Children the total amount by transfer, entry or check.
The Councilor for Education, Sonia López, explained that "the Kilometers of Solidarity race allows the defense and promotion of the Rights of the Child to work." With this initiative, the students know more closely the situation that millions of children from the most disadvantaged countries live daily".
The CEIP Purisima Concepción has wanted to join this initiative coinciding with the arrival of the Day of Peace to be held next Monday, January 30.
Finally, the Councilor for Education has stressed that "this activity aims to raise awareness and raise funds to defend the rights of other children in a more vulnerable situation."
