The expansion has consisted in the creation of a new Primary line with the construction of an additional plant on the module that already existed in Early Childhood Education.
This action has an investment of more than 350,000 euros by the Ministry of Education and Universities of the Autonomous Community.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, and the Minister of Education and Universities, María Isabel Sánchez-Mora, today inaugurated the expansion of the public school Juan Antonio López Alcaraz, which opens a new module with six classrooms of Primary Education.
Specifically, the expansion has consisted in the creation of a new line of Primary Education with the construction of an additional plant on the module that already existed of Early Childhood Education.
In this sense, the module has six new Primary classrooms, meeting room for teachers, warehouse and toilets, including one for people with disabilities.
Likewise, stairs have been installed attached to the module for evacuation in case of fire.
In the ground floor of the building the layout of the spaces remains unchanged and changes the use of the cleaning room, which becomes a zone of installations and housing the heating, with an air-water heat pump system.
The building had an area of ​​559 square meters, and after enlargement has 1,169 square meters.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, stressed that "with this expansion we improve again the infrastructures of the municipalities of our municipality, which are already all connected to a public daycare with pick-up and transfer service and school lunch service ".
In addition, Tunisia added that "with this expansion we make it possible for our public centers to be adapted to the real needs of schooling and for students and teachers to have adequate facilities and infrastructure during the school year."
Finally, the Mayor has thanked the regional government, and specifically the Minister of Education, this new comprehensive action that has been implemented in the CEIP Juan Antonio López Alcaraz.
The budget of this work has been over 350,000 euros and has been framed within the strategy '+ Educational Quality, + School Success', launched by the Ministry of Education and Universities and is funded by European regional development funds.
