The construction of a metal barrier is planned to contain the possible landslides and stones that may occur in the South Hills.
Today the actions have begun to reinforce the consolidation of the southern slope of the Castle of Nogalte of Puerto Lumbreras with the objective of improving the security of the zone.
Specifically, it is planned to build a metal barrier to contain possible landslides and stones that may occur, since there is a platform of 2 or 3 meters wide.
"With this action we intend to avoid landslides and strengthen security for the neighbors of the area," said the mayor, Mª Ángeles Tunisia.
In this way, the work consists of the execution of a metal barrier based on a steel profile anchored to the ground in a mechanical way, to avoid possible earth movements and the execution of a metallic lattice to contain any possible landslides that may occur.
The Mayor said that "this is an important work that, along with others that have been done previously in this area, will improve the safety conditions for the residents of the southern slope of the Castle."
The estimated period of execution of the works is one month and the guarantee will be one year from the date of signing the act of final reception of the works.
Finally, it should be noted that the budget is 8,780 euros by the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
