The practical day has included a simulator in which students have verified what happens when a car dumps, how the seat belt acts in case of an accident or how it affects the consumption of alcohol and drugs in driving.
More than 200 students aged between 14 and 17 years of the Institute of Secondary Education Rambla de Nogalte have been trained in road safety in order to avoid risks and prevent accidents.
Specifically, the students have attended during the last weeks theoretical lectures on road safety and first aid to later put this knowledge into practice in the practical workshops.
Thus, the practical day has included a simulator in which the students have verified what happens when a car overturns, how the seat belt acts in case of an accident or how it affects the consumption of alcohol and drugs in driving.
In addition, young people have learned basic concepts for acting in an emergency, how to deal with different types of burns, mobilization and immobilization of patients, assistance to the polytraumatized patient, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Dolores Arenas, stressed that "the day has been very participatory, there have been various tests for the students to verify in a practical way the theoretical content and have exposed real cases to capture the attention and interest of Young".
In addition, Dolores Arenas stressed that "another year we launch this road safety campaign, which will also be carried out in schools and nurseries of the municipality, with the aim of children and young people know the rules and prevent accidents."
Finally, it should be noted that these days are organized by the Local Police and the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with Civil Protection, Ambulancias de Lorca and San Nicolás Training Center of Cartagena.
