The Employment Department of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has decentralized the employment services in five different departments to improve the attention to citizens and put more facilities to the lumbrerenses in their search for employment.
Employment services, which until now were carried out at the Center for Innovation, Training and Employment (CIFE2 - Industrial Area of Puerto Lumbreras), are also carried out from the Center for Women, the Municipal Offices of La Estación-Esparragal and Espacio Youth, through the program Youth Guarantee and the program Currélatelo.
In this way, the Women's Center has an employment office exclusively for women.
This Local Employment Center for Women has employment counseling services, training advice and curriculum development.
The opening hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 09.00 to 14.00.
Likewise, in La Estación-Esparragal, employment and training services are also provided in the municipal offices of this district of Lumbrerense, to avoid displacement of citizens to the municipality.
The hours are from Monday to Friday from 09.30 to 15.00 hours.
Two employment offices have recently been set up in Espacio Joven, located in the urban center of the town.
On the one hand, a technician specialized in the Youth Guarantee program offers job and training advice to young people in the municipality from 16 to 29 years, from Tuesday to Friday from 10.00 to 13.30 hours and Monday from 16.30 to 20.00 hours.
On the other hand, through the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, a new labor counseling and training office has been opened, aimed at people at risk of social exclusion.
This employment service is intended for people aged between 16 and 64 with difficulties in accessing social resources.
The people who use this service are directly derived from Social Services.
The Councilor for Employment, Angela Morillas, explained that "we have fulfilled our commitment to enable more guidance services and help the active search for employment with the main objective of providing more facilities to the unemployed and continue to reduce our unemployment rate, which currently Is around 8% ".
