The Municipal Sports Center of Puerto Lumbreras has made a balance of the first quarter of 2017 with a notable increase in users in heated pools, compared to the same period last season.
In this way, the number of children taking swimming courses in these facilities has increased by 22% in the first three months of the year.
The Councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, explained that "because of this increase we have considered it necessary to extend the hours to provide a better service."
Currently, the Sports Center offers swimming lessons from Monday to Saturday in shifts of three, two or one day per week.
Covered swimming courses are classified by age.
The Department of Sports has designed a program with five swimming courses for children, which include swimming for babies from 6 months to 3 years, swimming for 3 to 4 years, swimming for children from 5 to 7 years, swimming for children From 8 to 11 years old and swimming for adolescents from 12 to 16 years old.
The hours of the children's swimming courses are distributed from Monday to Friday in the afternoon and on Saturday mornings.
The classes are at 16:30, 17:20, 18:20 and 19:10 hours.
Saturday shifts are at 10:00, 10:50, 12:00 and 12:50 hours.
On the other hand, it is noteworthy that the number of adult users has also increased in this first quarter of the year.
The most requested activities have been free swimming, therapeutic swimming and aquagym, which have increased by 25%.
Councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, stressed that "the Municipal Sports Center has discounts, quarterly and biweekly rates, responding to the needs of users, thus allowing greater savings to citizens."
Pensioners and people with disabilities receive discounts of 50%, while large families benefit from 25%.
On the other hand, unemployed people, university students and young card users enjoy a 10% discount on activities.
