The Riá Pitá Dance Association, the Movilín Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and the Mª Teresa Lazareno Dance Academy participate in the activities organized for World Dance Day.
The Department of Culture and Tourism of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has organized one year more activities to commemorate the International Day of Dance, which is celebrated on 29 April.
Specifically, the activities began last Wednesday April 26 with the performance of a hundred dancers of the dance academy Riá Pitá and reading manifesto in the park Reina Sofía.
In addition, the Movilín Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of Puerto Lumbreras also collaborated in this initiative in which numerous children participated in performing acrobatics and different exercises with tapes.
On the other hand, the dancers of the dance academy of Mª Teresa Lazareno performed yesterday a show under the title "Nature and dance" at 18.00 hours in the Reina Sofía park.
The members of the academy of Mª Teresa Lazareno offered dances and also made flower plantations in the park as a symbolic gesture to commemorate this day.
The councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez, explained that "we want to extend dance as a cultural practice among lumbrerenses. We take this opportunity to give visibility to the work done by the dancers of local associations, taking dance to the parks."
