The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has launched a new campaign to prevent the occurrence of insect pests, especially mosquitoes, in the municipality.
Specifically, treatments are being applied to larvae and adult animals to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes in parks, gardens and other green areas.
Councilor for Health, Andrés López, explained that "the main objective of this new campaign is to prevent or eradicate, if there were already, the appearance of concentrations or groups of all types of insects such as flies or mosquitoes, Which usually appear with the arrival of heat. "
The treatment consists of the application of repellent and repellent agents by the application, nebulization and surface spraying of deinsecting microparticles.
To carry out these tasks have been used different types of biocides such as Serpa Mosquito Tablet or Biopren.
The Councilor for Health has stressed that "citizens can also take measures to prevent the occurrence of mosquitoes" and recalled the risk arising from the accumulation of stagnant water.
López emphasized that "it is recommended to keep the pools clean and chlorinated, keep the garbage bags closed and prevent the accumulation of liquid in pots or drains."
In the next few days public health campaigns will continue to be carried out with the disinfection and disinfection of sewage and sewer areas located in the streets of the municipality to prevent the appearance of any rodents or insects such as cockroaches.
