The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Autonomous Community, has already begun work on the construction of a roundabout next to the public park Reina Sofia, which will improve traffic, access and road safety of citizens.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Tunis, and the councilman of Works, Eliseo Sánchez, have visited the works to supervise the actions that are being carried out.
Tunisia stressed that "the creation of this roundabout is necessary, since it is a busy area and it is important to take action to improve road safety and traffic flow."
Specifically, the works are being carried out in Avenida Astudillo and consist mainly in the creation of a roundabout with reinforcement of the firm.
In addition, a symmetrical section composed of sidewalks of a minimum of 1.20 meters wide has been projected, and the roads, one for each direction of the circulation, will be of 3.50 meters.
The sidewalk section consists of a terrazzo-colored pavement that will rest on a concrete base.
Also, the roundabout will be beautified with artificial turf and Mediterranean vegetation.
Finally, it should be noted that the budget of this work is 23,840 euros, of which 22,648 euros is financed by the Community, and the rest the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
