Citizens who wish can do guided tours any day of the week prior reservation.
The Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Puerto Lumbreras has scheduled new guided tours to the Castle of Nogalte.
The Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, stressed that "coinciding with the arrival of good weather and spring, we want to encourage citizens to know the historical wealth and heritage of Puerto Lumbreras, through Medina Nogalte visiting their homes -cueva and the Castle of Nogalte ".
The tourist complex Medina Nogalte has 8 themed cave houses, located next to the Castle.
It is a tourist-cultural itinerary with which visitors are aware of the existence of an Islamic fortress, the caves used as dwellings for centuries, the importance of water culture or handicrafts for the local economy.
In addition, visitors will learn about life at school during the 1950s.
From the Department of Tourism and Culture, and through the Office of Tourism, the City Council continues to put in value one of the most important cultural, historical and tourist resources of the city.
The next guided visit to Medina Nogalte will be held on Saturday 27 May at 7 pm and Sunday 28 at 12 noon.
In addition, citizens who wish can do guided tours any day of the week prior reservation.
On the other hand, tourists and residents can visit the Medina Nogalte Tourist Complex every Saturday and Sunday free time in the morning from 10.00 to 14.00 hours and in the afternoon from 18.00 to 20.00 hours.
The tourist enclave can also be visited from Monday to Friday in the morning or afternoon with prior reservation by calling the Tourist Office (968 43 61 53) or by sending an email to oficinadeturismo@puertolumbreras.es
Finally, it should be mentioned that the eight cave houses that make up the tourist route are: "We recovered our history", "The school in Medina Nogalte", "Life and traditions in the Cave Houses", "Audiovisual Cave" , "The Culture of Water", "The medieval castle of Nogalte: Islamic enclave" and "Workshop of the craftsman".
