The Council of Physical Activity and Sports of the City of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the four public schools of the municipality, has developed a school swimming program for children to start in this sport.
Around 400 students have participated in the conference aimed at children from 8 to 12 years.
These Primary School students have had at their disposal the indoor swimming pool of the Sports Center and the technical staff of support to the Physical Education teacher, for their use during school hours.
The activities have been organized by different levels.
Some minors started from level zero with the help of auxiliary elements, while others began these days knowing different swimming techniques.
It should be noted that on the first day of school the children passed a test to determine their level.
The students have done aquatic activities in sessions of 55 minutes, in which they have practiced different exercises and swimming styles.
In addition, children have learned to control breathing and balance in the aquatic environment.
"The objective of this initiative is to arouse interest in aquatic physical activity and to consolidate early sports practice as a regular habit. It has also been intended to stimulate the incorporation of sports activities to the community," said Juan Rubén Burrueco, a councilor for Sports. Organization and operation of schools ".
