The renewal of the distinction recognizes the work of lumbrerenses companies to optimize and improve the quality of the services provided in the municipality.
A total of 15 establishments in Puerto Lumbreras renew the tourist quality label SICTED (Integrated System of Tourist Quality in Destinations) by successfully passing the audits marked by Turespaña.
This has been decided by the Bureau of Tourism Quality that has met in Puerto Lumbreras.
The Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, thanked the effort made by companies and tourism services for the renewal of this quality badge.
In addition, he stressed that "the distinctive recognizes the work carried out by our companies to provide quality tourism services."
The companies and other establishments that will continue to wear the emblem of tourist quality are Guirrete Celebrations and Events, Rural House Aldea La Purísima, Tourist Office, Casa de los Duendes, Hotel Riscal, Las Águilas del Sol, Viajes Mercurio, Mesón Villarejo, Restaurante Raiguero , Local Police, Ethnographic Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock of the Casa del Cura, Cabezo de la Jara Astronomical Observatory, Interpretation Center for Nature, Medina Nogalte and Bar el Ruedo.
During the calls for 2012 to 2014, all these establishments got the Sicted quality distinction and after a follow-up process they have managed to renew the badge.
The distinction, granted by the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), recognizes the work of lumbrerenses companies to optimize and improve the quality of the services provided in the municipality.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras offers local businessmen free technical assistance to implement the system, providing them with a methodology and specific training on tourism quality.
The Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez, explained that "our goal is to improve the quality of local businesses and foster a business culture of excellence to increase the satisfaction of tourists who visit our municipality."
In this way, the Sicted project unifies the quality criteria of the services offered in Puerto Lumbreras through specialized technical advice to all companies directly or indirectly linked to the tourism sector.
Likewise, work is being done on improving services through training and counseling plans for tourism companies.
In addition, the project offers numerous advantages for companies and tourism services in the municipality, such as improvements in internal management, technical assistance, and increased team qualification.
