The lumbrerenses will be able to benefit from a new call for aid of the Leader program that grants the European Union in the period 2014-2020 for the development of the rural environment.
The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras hosted the public presentation of the Participatory Local Development Strategy of Campoder 2014-2020, called "Territorio Campoder: growing together".
The lumbrerenses will be able to benefit from a new call for aid of the Leader program that grants the European Union in the period 2014-2020 for the development of the rural environment.
For this reason, a briefing was held yesterday at the Cultural Center to explain how to apply for the aids and the requirements that must be met.
Campoder has very clear strategic objectives for this period: to increase the employment options in the territory, to improve the competitiveness of micro-enterprises, to preserve and protect the territory and to promote the sustainable use of resources, to value the rural heritage, to improve Services and basic infrastructures in small nuclei of population and to promote the social dynamization and the cooperation between agents of the territory.
With the Leader methodology, based on the direct participation of the population of the territory in the design and execution of this development strategy, it is intended to execute a budget that surpasses 4.5 million euros over five years, supporting projects Of a very diverse nature: start-up of micro-enterprises, projects promoted by private non-profit organizations and projects of a public nature, promoted by local entities, in the field of training and cooperation, environmental protection and awareness, protection of the rural heritage And promotion of the territory, tourism or services and infrastructures.
The mayor of the town, María Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "these grants are a great opportunity that we must take advantage of, as they allow the implementation of projects that make rural environments more attractive, improve infrastructure and increase the quality of life of the citizens".
In addition, Tunisia has emphasized "the importance of disseminating this new call for aid that many lumbrerenses can benefit, whether associations, groups or individuals."
The Participatory Local Development Strategy of Campoder 2014-2020, "Territorio Campoder: growing together", is financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Development Program Rural that manages the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
