New play areas for children with artificial turf, a mini football field, a mini basketball court have been created and Calistenia devices have been installed.
The action has an investment of 48,370.88 euros, with 45,952.34 euros subsidized by the Autonomous Community.
Yesterday the remodeling works were inaugurated in the public park Augusto Vels, one of the most central parks in the town, with an investment of more than 48,000 euros.
The inauguration was held in conjunction with the celebration of the World Environment Day and the children enjoyed animation activities related to the care of nature.
In addition, the Club Deportivo Lumbreras held a 3x3 tournament on the new soccer court and also made a masterclass of zumba by Space Fitness.
In this sense, improvement work has focused on creating new spaces for recreation, repairing pavements with subsidence, creating a new recreational area inside the park, repairing banks and replacing bins, among other elements of the Urban furniture.
In addition, new playgrounds for children with artificial turf, a mini soccer field, a mini basketball court have been created and Calistenia devices have been installed.
In the same way, a new signage of the use of the park has been introduced for the proper functioning of the same, the areas of natural turf have been improved and the irrigation system has been replaced to make it more efficient and automatic.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "we have extended the comfort of the facilities, has increased the security of the park and we have managed to improve its appearance and functionality."
Thus, the investment has an investment of 48,370.88 euros, with 45,952.34 euros subsidized by the Autonomous Community and 2,418.54 euros contributed by the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
This work is part of the Regional Plan of Action of Works and Services of Municipal Competition.
On the other hand, the Mayor pointed out that "in parallel, these actions are also integrated into the Plan for Adequacy of Green Zones that the City of Puerto Lumbreras is carrying out with the aim of significantly improving the image of all parks and Gardens of the municipality ".
The Green Zone Comprehensive Adaptation Plan includes about 200 improvement actions in 40 areas of the municipality such as parks, avenues, gardens and other green areas.
Finally, Tunisia has called for citizen collaboration in the maintenance and care of the parks "so that Puerto Lumbreras remains a clean and sustainable municipality. Green areas are a public space of leisure and recreation widely used by neighbors whose environmental value requires Constant maintenance ".
