The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Council of Social Policy, offers scholarships for the dining room and the activities of the Summer Schools that are held in the municipality.
Many families with limited economic resources will be able to benefit from this aid during the holiday period of schoolchildren.
The aid granted by the Consistory is based on criteria such as the level of family income, if the family unit is at risk of social exclusion and if the child to whom the scholarship is intended suffer some form of disability.
The Mayor explained that "our intention is to make it easier for underprivileged children to enjoy leisure and sports activities during the summer months."
In addition, Tunisia has added that "children who participate in the Summer School of the Municipal Nursery Network will also have a lunch scholarship in children's school."
The Puerto Lumbreras Summer Schools offer various activities such as horse riding, music games, crafts, water activities and hiking for local attractions.
Mª Ángeles Tunisia has emphasized that "the objective is to offer leisure and leisure alternatives that encourage the personal development of the students, help the family conciliation and show the resources of cultural and natural heritage of the municipality."
It should be noted that the scholarships are destined to the Football Educational Campus, Municipal Nursery Network, Outdoor Activities Campus and Puerto Lumbreras Summer School.
The Councilor for Childhood and Equal Opportunities, Sonia López, highlighted "the considerable increase of children in the Summer School of the Municipal Nursery Network compared to other years."
The council explained that "this school, which includes a dining service prepared by nutritionists, favors the reconciliation of working and family life of working parents, and also constitutes an educational alternative for children."
Lastly, it should be noted that the enrollment period for Puerto Lumbreras Summer Infantile Schools is still open.
