The councilor, Angeles Morillas, and the director general of Labor Relations and Social Economy, Nuria Fuentes, visited the facilities of the agro-food cooperative ALIMER, located in Puerto Lumbreras.
The councilor of the town has stressed that "Alimer is a benchmark within the regional and national agricultural sector, and has become a major economic engine of the municipalities in which it is implemented."
In addition, Morillas added that "it is an exemplary cooperative, in which work, dynamism and continuous innovation excel, as evidenced by its income statement."

Morillas has highlighted that "Alimer is strongly implanted in Puerto Lumbreras, as it has important infrastructure in our municipality such as the seedbed, cut flower section, new vegetable store or the next opening of a gas station and store.In addition, We also have lumbrerenses partners in practically every section of the cooperative ".
Food of the Mediterranean (Alimer) was born in 2006 from eight societies of the Valley of Guadalentín and Vega Alta.
The resulting cooperative produces a wide range of foods: sweet fruit, vegetables, watermelons and melons;
Vegetable preserves;
Flowers and ornamental plants;
Pork, kid and beef;
Dairy products and supplies (feed, fertilizers, pesticides, hardware, agricultural machinery and fuels).
Alimer has 1,655 members and employs more than 1,000 people in its warehouses.
