The fairgrounds of Puerto Lumbreras will have a lactation room during the patron saint festivities, which will take place from October 4 to 8.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "we have enabled a room available to nursing mothers so they can breast-feed their babies, as well as other types of food or change diapers with total comfort and greater intimacy" .
This new free service is located in the fairground at night, next to Los Caños, and will remain open to the public from 19.00 hours.
The new space will be equipped with armchairs, changing tables, tables, chairs, microwaves, and hygienic material like wipes.
In addition, a cleaning service will be put in place that will keep you ready to be used at any time.
The mayor of the town has stressed that "our intention is to support and facilitate the means for those who request it."
It should be noted that this initiative has been launched in collaboration with the association "La casa del árbol".
The tree house is a newly created lumbrerense association dedicated to breastfeeding, respectful breeding, education and well-being.
From the association workshops, courses and talks are given with the objective of advising the mothers in their new stage.
