Coinciding with the Fiestas Patronales, the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras welcomes once more the Medieval Market and the Local Craft Fair.
Specifically, 40 artisans from different parts of the Region have traveled to the town of Lumbrerense to sell their products.
The market remains open until tomorrow, October 8, and is held at San Rafael Park.
Lumbrerenses and visitors can enjoy an important sample of handcrafted products of all kinds, exhibitions of old trades and different activities of entertainment and leisure for all ages.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, and Commerce Councilor Angela Morillas yesterday inaugurated the Medieval Market and the Craft Fair, accompanied by the Queen and the Children's Queen of the 2017 Festivities and their bridesmaids.
People who come to the market will enjoy a varied and varied selection of handmade products such as paintings, sweets, soaps and cosmetics, works made in esparto, embroidery, toys, minerals, or aromatic flowers, among many other products.
In the same way, there are typical products of the local craftsmanship that is characterized by using indigenous materials of the region to elaborate their products, and to use manual techniques away from serial production, this way wood, stone , ceramics, glass, cane and esparto.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that there are exhibitions and demonstrations of crafts that are developed in a traditional way such as the collection of honey, the elaboration of sausages or the making of colorful embroidery with a loom.
Thus, also demonstrations of the ancient craft of falconry and the operation of a still where artisan liquors are distilled.
The Medieval Market and the Craft Fair include different entertainment and entertainment areas for visitors of all ages.
Thus, it has a typical medieval tavern where you can taste wines and grilled meats, an Arab tearoom or a workshop area and children's entertainment with inflatables and carousel.
