The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras dressed gala yesterday to accompany the Patroness, the Virgin of the Rosary, through the main streets of the town.
At 19:00 hours, the Virgin left the Church, where many lumbrerenses gathered to accompany the Patroness throughout the tour.
Municipal Corporation, associations, and numerous lumbrerenses accompanied the Virgin, carried by the costaleros, by the main streets of the municipality.
In addition, ladies and queens of the Festivities followed the procession dressed in the Spanish mantilla.
The celebration of the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7 dates back to the Catholic Church in 1572. It was established within the liturgy by the Dominican Pope St. Pius V. His successor, Gregory XIII, contributed to the spread of the party to institute it in those parishes that had brotherhood.
