The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, and the president of the Association Lumbre de Alzheimer (ALDEA), Modestina Díaz, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote activities to support the Alzheimer's patients in the municipality.
From the signing of this agreement, the association will be able to have a direct subsidy of 10.200 euros.
In this sense, the mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "through collaboration with ALDEA, we want to promote measures that improve the quality of life of Alzheimer's patients in our municipality. the groups that work in the social field for the benefit of the people with greater difficulties ".
In this way, the Lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer's Disease (ALDEA) is committed to launch a 2017-2018 Action Plan, which includes the organization of conferences, seminars and awareness courses on the disease.
Among the initiatives organized by the Association are also help groups and workshops for the sick.
In addition, the Action Plan includes counseling services in legal, sociological and economic matters for families, psychological and moral assistance, and a program to facilitate and control the care of Alzheimer's patients.
Finally, the Mayor thanked the work that the association has been developing and encouraged them to continue in the same line of action.
The Aldea Association is a non-profit organization formed in November 2006 and formed by relatives of Alzheimer's patients and professionals from various fields such as Psychology, Physiotherapy, Social Work and other disciplines involved in the care of the Alzheimer's patient.
Its activity, financed by contributions and donations from more than 80 associates and by grants from public entities, arises through private initiatives, in response to the needs raised by relatives of patients with Alzheimer's.
