The Mayor has requested greater presence of the Citizen Security Units of the Command to strengthen security.
The General Secretary of the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia, Mª José Navarro, and the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Angeles Tunisia, chaired this morning the Local Safety Board, which has analyzed the current situation of the municipality in matters of security, and they have addressed the collaboration procedures between the different Security Forces present in the town.
It should be noted that the Local Safety Board has also been attended by the Councilor for Public Safety, Dolores Arenas, the Chief of the Local Police and the Commander of the Civil Guard Post of Puerto Lumbreras.
Among the topics discussed in the meeting include the measures implemented by the City on terrorism and the current situation of the municipality in gender violence.
In addition, the Mayor has requested the Government Delegation greater presence of the Units of Citizen Security of the Command (USECIC) in rural areas, as well as the incorporation of new members of the Civil Guard in the municipality.
The Mayor explained that "our intention is to strengthen citizen security, paying special attention to rural areas, which have a greater number of population disseminated."
Tunisia added that "control and police presence are always effective, with very positive results, both in the prevention and in the clarification of crimes."
Mª Ángeles Tunisia has highlighted the importance of holding meetings of this kind and has assured that "the objective of the Local Board is to analyze and assess the situation of citizen security in the locality." During the development of this meeting we agreed to strengthen collaboration and the coordination between the Local Police and the Civil Guard of the zone ".
"Preventive measures in matters of security are fundamental and it is also necessary to enhance citizen collaboration with the agents of the Security Forces and Corps", concluded Mª Ángeles Túnez.
