The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras continues to launch new channels of communication with the citizen.
As a novelty, citizens will be informed of the events, as well as the main news of local news through WhatsApp.
To receive these informative messages from the City Council, citizens must register on the website of the city council (www.puertolumbreras.es), in the link "new information service through WhatsApp".
From there, you can access a registration form, which the interested party must complete in order to register for the service.
The information will reach the town hall, which will create a broadcast list with the mobiles of the registered users, so that the information will come out and reach everyone at once and quickly.
Then, to complete the registration process in this service, it is necessary to send a message through WhatsApp to the number that the City Council has enabled (661 20 17 00) with the word HIGH, and the user will begin to receive the messages.
The telephone from which the messages of the town hall will arrive will be 661 20 17 00, which will have to be memorized in the list of contacts so that the messages arrive correctly.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, explained that "we have developed this initiative with the aim of improving communication channels and be closer to citizens." This service of sending alerts through WhatsApp will allow Lumbrerenses to know the agenda of cultural, social, sporting and leisure events, as well as incidents in traffic or water cuts ".
Tunisia has encouraged citizens to register and has stressed that "this service will be carried out without saturating information to users, no more than one alert per day will be sent".
In addition, the mayor stressed that "this tool will not serve for citizens to consult with the City, as the messages sent by users will not be answered, is a channel to distribute information more smoothly and without cost to citizens nor for the City Council ".
