Last night the Christmas proclamation was celebrated by the Lumbrerense Asensio P. Martínez Rodríguez in the Parochial Church.
The event, which began at 7:30 p.m., marked the beginning of the program for Christmas activities in Puerto Lumbreras.
The person in charge of reading the Christmas proclamation delivered his speech to more than 200 people.
The town crier began explaining what the Advent season means for Christians and toured the Christmas of his childhood, remembering that Christmas are dates of love and happiness.
Asensio Martínez was chosen to welcome Christmas 2017 for his great commitment to the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
This Lumbreren has been president of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of Stmo.
Christ of the Faith and María Stma de la Piedad and president of the Town Council of Easter Weeks of Puerto Lumbreras.
At a professional level, Asensio Martínez is director of Network and Business of the Territorial Direction of Levante of BMN (Banco Mare Nostrum)
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, stressed that "for a few years we have been celebrating the Christmas proclamation because we understand that it is a way to keep the traditions alive and to create a different framework for the beginning of Christmas."
In addition, Tunisia announced that "we have designed a broad program of activities, with which we intend to promote the Christmas spirit among citizens and promote purchases in the municipality."
After reading the Proclamation, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the Queen of the Fiestas 2017, Marta Sánchez, delivered a commemorative plaque to the town crier.
At the end of the act the Municipal Bethlehem was inaugurated, located in the Juan Pablo II square, next to the Church.
The inauguration included the performance of Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario.
The members of the group presented the themes of their last album published last November.
