The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras now has a new handball team "Puerto Lumbreras Handball Club".
It is the first official club that is based on the sporting history of the municipality in this modality.
This was announced yesterday at the presentation that took place at the Municipal Sports Center, attended by the Councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco.
It is a team of enthusiastic fans of this sport, led by Juan Montiel as president and Eduardo Castiñeyra as coach.
According to representatives of the club "the team is born from the enthusiasm of several of the players and managers of the club to launch an initiative from scratch, it is a new project that we are going to take the good way to achieve all the possible positive results and experiences With effort and sacrifice we are willing to create a family within the team, promoting basic values ​​of sports such as solidarity, respect or friendship. "
The club aims to consolidate the senior team and the creation of a handball school for the next year 2018. Councilor for Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, said that "it is good news that Puerto Lumbreras has the first team of handball of the history of the municipality, since more and more lumbrerenses are fans of this sport ".
In addition, Burrueco has positively evaluated the future creation of a school and stressed that "the creation of a handball school is essential to promote and promote sports from the grassroots, as well as to encourage sports among children."
It should be noted that Puerto Lumbreras already has twelve sports schools so that each person can do the sport that they like best and which best suits their possibilities.
The event ended with the presentation of the sports equipment of the senior team for this season.
The clothing includes red and olive green garments accompanied by black pants, in harmony with the colors of the Puerto Lumbreras coat of arms.
After the presentation, members of the club made a donation of food to Cáritas Parroquial.
The donation of food was made through a campaign that had been promoted during the last weeks with the installation of several collection points in the municipality.
