"Right now the neighbors only have a vague promise of action, but not even the general director of Roads could yesterday put a date to the work," says the local coordinator, José Ignacio Reverte
Citizens has once again demanded that the City Council and the regional government urgently undertake the repair works of the Camino de Vera, the road that connects the municipality with Lorca through the hamlet of El Esparragal-La Estación, and suffers a remarkable deterioration that puts even at risk the safety of the drivers who pass it.
The local spokesman, José Ignacio Reverte, has visited along with the national deputy José Luis Martínez the most degraded section, which runs from the crossing of the Cuatro Caminos to the boundary of the municipal district, stating the urgency of a performance "that the neighbors have been demanding for years ".
Reverte recalled that in the past Plenary the government team rejected a request in this regard backed by more than 200 signatures, collected thanks to the initiative of Citizens among neighbors.
"To this day, we only have a vague promise that the road will be fixed, but there is no budget or there is no real will to undertake the work," said the orange deputy, who said that the Citizens' group already is working on a formal request in the Regional Assembly to unblock the Camino de Vera settlement.
